It Was Mother's Day, and I Owned It
My mother-in-law has two great traditions for Mother's Day. We always eat soft shell crabs for dinner. It's the beginning of the season and I love how she prepares them: lightly dredged in flour, salt, garlic, pepper, and paprika. More importantly, we spend the afternoon have our annual cook-off. Previous years have the crowning of the spinach pie champion, the burrito champion, the pie champion, and others. This year, I was crowned chocolate cookie champion.
My cookies (which I just dropped off in the Squarespace kitchen) are a variation on the Momofuko Compost Cookie. The cookie is fairly light, but crunchy, and the flexibility of the recipe let's you make whatever you want. I have a big sweet/salt tooth so I used pretzels, sea salted caramel and more.
Recipe to come.
My Wife, Doer
Everyone eats lunch, right?
My wife is the greatest. A few months ago she had an idea for an iPhone app. She worked hard at it and today it's a reality.
With LaLa Lunchbox your kids personalize and design their lunchboxes with fun monsters and colors, and quickly plan their lunches for a whole week at a time. The app then magically transforms those lunch choices into a super easy-to-use grocery list for mom or dad. Kids are empowered to make their own choices and learn about making balanced meal choices.

Slow Jam the News with Barack Obama
I'm President Obama and I too want to slow jam the news.
Epic. (They like him. They really really like him.)
