Today is the 100th birthday of Grand Central Terminal! Though it never compared to the original Penn Station, it is a living monument to what this country can accomplish when we invest in infrastructure (all the caveats about Vanderbilt notwithstanding).

DLD 13
This was my first DLD and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Great mix of speakers (from founders to DNA sequencers to dancing robots) and a highly engaged – and engaging – group of attendees. The best part? I only knew 2 people. This was not your typical tech conference nor tech conference crowd. I almost felt like a backpacker again, making friends from around the world.
As an aside, Magine was the best product demo I saw. If you like TV you have to see this.
